Cleaning the beanie by handHand-washing is the gentlest method and is especially recommended if the beanie has any embroidery.

1. Spot-clean minor stains by applying a small amount of warm water and dish soap to the area. Use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the spot if needed.
2. For a full wash, fill a clean sink or bucket with cool water (under 86°F or 30°C).
3. Add a mild detergent, such as one for delicate fabrics, and mix it into the water. Avoid detergents with bleach.
4. Submerge the beanie and gently agitate it with your hands for a few minutes. Avoid scrubbing, twisting, or wringing the material.
5. Rinse with fresh, cool water until all the soap is gone. Gently squeeze out the excess water without twisting the hat. 

Drying and storageProper drying is crucial to maintaining the beanie's shape.

• Air-dry only. Never put your beanie in a tumble dryer, as high heat can cause the fabric to stretch, warp, or shrink.
• Dry flat. Lay the beanie on a clean, dry towel and reshape it into its original form. Allow it to air-dry completely.
• To preserve shape while drying, you can stuff the damp beanie with a bunched-up towel.
• Fold to store. For seasonal storage, fold your beanie and keep it in a cool, dry place. Hanging it can cause the material to stretch.

• Acrylic is a synthetic fiber that is durable but sensitive to heat. High temperatures can cause the fibers to melt or warp.
• Cotton is a natural fiber that can shrink with heat. The combination of these materials means cold or lukewarm water is the safest option.
